Synopsis: HUSBAY’s own (self-appointed) Haiku Laureate Dan Dana will discuss the art and wordcraft of writing “haiku quintets,” a form of micropoetry derived from the ancient Japanese tradition. Dan’s post-retirement hobby has mushroomed to 171 (so far) quintets and four published e-books (free). Another collection, titled “Songs of the Pandemic,” will be published this month. Dan will read some selections that address several topics, starting with tips for writing haiku as a tool for creative expression. Try it; you might like it.
