Karen Koenig

Karen R. Koenig, and her husband, Keith Loring moved to Sarasota from Boston in 2005 and were delighted to find HUSBAY members so warm and welcoming.

Semi-retired, she continues to love her work as a licensed psychotherapist specializing in overeating and binge-eating, writing books (she’s written eight), articles, and blogs.

Private practice and doing volunteer counseling for Women’s Resource Center give her flexibility to do other things she enjoys: spending time with her husband, dining out with friends, taking dance lessons, attending musicals at the Van Wezel and the Westcoast Black Theatre Troupe, attending a bi-monthly discussion group, reading, and hanging out with her cat.

Karen is a psychotherapist in practice for 30+ years and an expert on eating psychology which is the how and why, not the what, of eating. She helps chronic dieters and emotional, binge, and overeaters become “normal” eaters. Among her seven books, she has two awards and ten foreign translations. Videos about all her books can be found on her website.
